ELLIS RUGBY
In 1823, William Webb Ellis of Rugby School invented rugby football. Like any sport the evolution of where it began and where it is today involves changes to the game, rules, equipment and players. By the early 1890's rugby clubs were formed in the Northern English countries Lancashire and Yorkshire and became a working class game. As rugby grew, there was a divide and so the south eastern clubs were middle class. By 1895, 22 teams broke away from the Rugby Union and formed the game of Rugby League.
With years of success and history in the United Kingdom we are thankful Ellis Rugby has expanded into Canada and we are happy to be a part of their launch into the Canadian market. They have a great design, quality products and Newfoundlanders are true believers in heritage which is a huge part of this historic brand. We welcome this rugby heritage brand and love the stories and hangtags with information about each product. We have started the collection with a selection of rugby t-shirts, rugby polo shirts and vintage rugby shirts. The colours and details of the crests and designs are inspired by legends and are a part of the classic style rugby clothing. Whether you are a fan of rugby or just love the design of these shirts we are happy to share this heritage brand with you.
